I had years of inexperience and a terrible amount of lust. Not to be embarrassed about, but enough to shake at.

[ He smiles gratefully at Joe's romantic nature, thanking him softly as he climbs into the car, reaching across for his hand as they wait their turn. ] Met. Killed one another. Did it again, and at least that showed me your stamina.

[ He strokes his thumb along Joe's hand. ]

We will only have to pretend, then, to be love-drunk teenagers.

I'm fairly certain Andy has accused us of being that before. [ He brings Nicky's hand to his lips and kisses it gently. ] Do you need a little inspiration?

[ He trails a few kisses down Nicky's arm. It's slow going. He doesn't have to give his full attention to driving right now. ]

Our first kiss will always be precious to me. I knew I would always be yours after that. I would do anything for another of your kisses.

[ She will accuse it again. He's grinning now, sly and secretive, as he leans in and cups Joe's cheek to kiss him, flush on the lips. ] You need do nothing to earn this kiss.

[ And then another. ]

Or this one.

[ Letting out a happy sigh, he longs for the car to be parked on the ferry, glancing to the backseat for what awaits. ] I try and remember our first kiss, but it was so very long ago, but it is the most important memory. That, and the vision of you in firelight, claiming me.

It was around a fire as well. Most of our first moments were. [ It can't be much longer now. It will just seem like it as the tension builds between them. ] We were very gentle with each other. I know I was scared you would push me away or kill me for it.

[ It would be a few more weeks before they made love for the first time. ] And you didn't. You blushed. I remember it very well.

[ He can feel it crackling as if there is a fire here. Nicky is going to burst with it soon, and he leans in to cup Joe's cheek, his fingers a little firmer in their possessive touch, unblinking and unflinching. ]

I had left my sword so far away so I would not think of it. And it was very clumsy, the first time, but still inspiring.

[ It had been heavenly, enough to make him recant all vows to God. ]

You were the only thing that I wanted to put my faith in, after that.

Hopefully, I will always be worthy of that faith.

[ He would very much like to kiss Nicky but he has to pull away to hand over the tickets and show their passports. He does gush about how excited they both are for their honeymoon and how beautiful the countryside is.

It makes the man checking their passports completely bored. Just more tourists. They get through without any trouble. Then it's simply a matter of following the signs into the belly of the ferry and parking. ]

Once these people are mostly gone I am going to drag you into the backseat and spend the entire time driving you mad with kisses.

I cannot imagine a reason I would lose it.

[ He sits back and relaxes as Joe talks to the customs person, comfortable in the knowledge that Joe's charisma can charm anyone, and the way Nicky keeps kissing his hand, they keep up the lovers on their honeymoon pretense.

Never mind they know more about Malta and the countryside than anyone around them. ]

I am half-tipsy with wine and all ideas sound good to me, but that one sounds excellent.

[ Never mind how cramped their limbs will be. ]

[ When their immortality ends Joe hopes Malta still has the charm that brings them here again and again. He wants to live out their last days here. ]

Tipsy from one glass of wine? What are you going to do when we drink a whole bottle of champagne tonight?

[ European cars are not made for men of their height but to Joe that means he'll just have more of Nicky all over him. ]

Tipsy on love and good wine. It is more the former than the latter.

[ He grins, given that a bottle of champagne should do all manner of things to his willpower, not that Joe needs that lowered by any means. He's still giddy at the thought of arriving at their five-star hotel, even if he's digging into his savings to do it.

He squirms a little to check to see how many cars before they can park. ]

You are my favourite thing to be drunk on, you know.

[ They will never hurt for money. If Nicky needs anything Joe will give him all the money he has and more.

He reaches over and rubs his hand against Nicky's thigh, his growing impatience clear in the strength of his grip. ]

I would like to be drunk on you right now. Have we come at the height of tourist season?

[ There are six cars ahead of them. They should be parked in only a few minutes but it feels like eternity. ]

Che cazzo, it must be.

[ He is annoyed because Joe's hand is giving him all kinds of ideas about being completely grappled and mauled by his hands, in a way so different from when they first met. He lets out an annoyed sound, but decides to prepare.

He moves, unbuckling and taking off his denim jacket to leave only the blue t-shirt beneath (a size too big). He also toes off his boots, given that he's about to be rolling around and he would very much not like to accidentally kick Joe. ]

[ He glances over as Nicky starts to take off his layers and licks his lips. ]

Careful, you'll give me ideas.

[ They're just supposed to make out but the backseat of a car is not the most awkward place they've had sex before.

Joe's fairly confident they could make it work and probably not get caught. ]

I am living the values we will teach Nile, about being prepared.

[ He carefully sets his boots in the passenger side area where his socked feet are, and stretches out so he can also undo his belt, coiling it atop it as the cars creep forward and tourists mill out of their cars to go up top.

Once he has, he slides his fingers overtop Joe's, interlocking them, hungry as ever as he stares at his gorgeous husband, reaching over to tangle his fingers in his necklace with his other hand, absently playing with the pendant. ]

I always love to hear your ideas, of course.

We are teaching her to always have a knife on her and carry spare ammo not to make it easy for a lover to get their hands on her.

[ Thank Allah the tourists are not interested in staying with their cars. They are leaving in what seem like droves to Joe which means they should have some privacy. ]

You'll have to give me a few minutes to catch up. [ But at least they're finally parked now. Other cars are behind them and need to park as well but Joe can unbuckle and lean across to kiss Nicky deeply. ] You test my patience like nothing else, my love.

And maybe her education should include ways to make her more amenable to future lovers.

[ He says it matter-of-factly, because romance is just as important as staying alive, which he thinks Joe would agree on. He grins as he lets go of the pendant and leans back where he can watch properly, but only after he steals his kisses. ]

I test your patience? You have been ethereally beautiful all morning, and you made me watch you eat olives by the sea with the wind in your hair. It is a miracle I did not beg you to fuck me on the lunch table.

If she wants to hear that advice from us. She might feel better talking to Andy about such things.

[ Since they'll be waiting for a few minutes longer until they see an opportunity to madly scramble for the back seat Joe takes off his shoes. ]

Your lips against my fingers was the sweetest torture of my own making. And this? Will only slightly dull the edge of my need. [ He shoves his shoes against the wheel well and takes a deep breath, telling himself to be patient. Nicky wasn't going anywhere. ]

Being prepared is excellent advice.

[ He stands by that. And right now, he is patiently waiting for Joe to take his shoes off and for the last trickles of people to drift past them. While he is calmer since they set off, he is still buzzing and on edge, desperate to have Joe in his arms again, to grope him and hold him. ]

I know it was not even a week, but to have you so near to me, strapped down, and outside of my touch, my rescue, it was torture, Joe. [ His eyes are naked with pain, and he sets the parking brake to make sure they are firmly in place, reaching for him to haul him in for a frantic kiss. ]

Yusuf, I need to feel you.

[ That's all his patience has given him, now that his need has broken him. ]

[ The pain was never the worst part of the lab. It was watching the man he loved suffer and drift in and out of consciousness while the doctor claimed some sort of higher ground. It was being powerless to stop it. ]

I know, my love. I know. [ He holds Nicky's face in his hands and presses into the kiss as hard as he can. ] Get in the back seat and I will give you all that I can.

[ Actually making love to Nicky will have to wait for the hotel room but they can comfort each other this way with kisses and touches. ] Get in the backseat.

[ It had seemed like they did things that killed Joe more, or knocked him to the edge of death to heal. Nicky could bear the immoral beliefs of the doctor, but not the callous and uncaring tendency to put science above human caring.

Nicky drifts into the kiss and strokes Joe's neck before he crawls into the backseat, not bothering to get out, almost kicking Joe in the face with a sock in his fumbling to crawl back there. ]

Sono qui. Now what?

[ A lot of his time in the lab is blank but what he did remember was hell. There was no place for that here. ]

I'll be right there. [ There is no way Joe can gracefully climb into the back. He gets out and comes around to join Nicky.

He pulls him straight into his lap the second he's back there and kisses him deeply. ] Try to keep an eye on what's happening around us. I would hate to be interrupted.

[ He pushes his hands under Nicky's shirt and runs them over his sides and back as he kisses him. ]

[ Nicky's grin becomes practically fiendish in its mischief the minute Joe clambers into the back seat, giving Nicky all that skin to touch. He grabs at his hair with one hand, the other groping his ass as he hauls him further up, moaning Joe's name into the kiss.

Fuck, this is what he needs.

It calms the little voice in his head, makes it easier to bear, and he sighs as he tips his head to the side to start giving Joe a hickey that will not last. ]

How long do you think I can ink you for?

[ He tilts his head back and offers his whole neck to Nicky's attention. ]

A minute if you make it big enough.

[ Their immortality has many benefits. It's given them a millennia together but they can't mark each other. Which is a shame because Nicky's pale skin begs for hickeys.

He rolls his hips up and grinds against him. Just another way to torture both of them but it's so good. ]

[ Nicky laughs brightly at the challenge, loving it beyond measure, even if he constantly mourns the ability to leave any kind of lasting mark on Joe. He bears in and pins him back against the seat to rock back against Joe's grinding motion as he begins to press kisses beneath the line of Joe's beard.

He slides his fingers over the line, kissing it as he watches the hickey he'd sucked in vanish. ]

Not even. Twenty seconds at most.

[ He nudges one leg in between Joe's, rocking against him as he grabs his curls and bears him back down for another filthy, messy, desperate kiss. ]

Try again.

[ Joe grabs his ass in a hand and massages that beautiful, round, perfect cheek.

He surges up from the seat to meet Nicky's kiss with equal want and desperation. ]

As soon as we are alone, my love, I'm going to fuck you hard. You'll beg for me.

[ With a ferocity that he usually reserves for battle, Nicky attacks Joe's neck again, but as opposed to a thousand years ago, he does not try and tear out his carotid, but rather sucks love marks into the skin, the beard burn healing as quickly as the hickeys.

His hips practically buck at Joe's words, at his touch. ]

I'm already close to it.

[ He says it breathlessly, but he is. It's getting hotter in the car by the second and he wants to strip the shirt off Joe, just so he can touch him and press close in. ]
