[ Nicky squirms and lets out a little 'ah' of air and warning when Joe's hand gets down to squeeze, not because he wants him to stop, but because his knees might do something unwise like collapse under him if he's not careful. ]

Have I ever disappointed you on this front?

[ Call it their immortality, but Nicky has always found himself ready to go when it's most needed. He ducks back out for the champagne and proper glasses, pouring it on the bathroom counter before he kisses Joe's bare shoulder as he searches. ]

Which one do you have in mind?

Here. Juniper and something else I can't quite tell what.

[ He holds the bottle slightly under Nicky's nose to let him have a little sniff. He liked it. It wasn't too heavy compared to the sandalwood and lavender.

Once it means Nicky's approval he pours a little into the water. Only enough to scent it, not overwhelm. ]

Now where's that champagne...

[ Nicky reaches for the flutes, amused. Careful not to make us smell like gin. ] I am holding you to your promise to dress me up in finery and take me out and if I were to smell like gin the whole time, people might get the wrong idea.

[ He settles on the edge of the tub, sipping his own glass as he sinks down into the tub, arms stretching out as he enjoys the warm water. And, of course, the sight of Joe in nothing at all and a glass of champagne is doing things to him. ]

Bring the bottle. Let's see how quickly you can get me champagne-drunk on bubbles.

You won't smell like gin. [ He rolls his eyes with fond amusement. There's a little more than just juniper. Anyway, it smells nice to Joe. ] Besides, the only person who will smell you is me.

[ Anyone who got close enough to smell Nicky would face Joe's wrath. ]

Champagne should be savored, love. [ But he brings the bottle as requested leaving it by the side of the rub before he gets in. He slips an arm around Nicky's shoulders. ] If you want to get drunk wait until after dinner when we can be silly.

And here I thought I would find a very nice woodsy cologne I could wear, just a hint to remind you of the old days sleeping in the forests.

[ Nicky grins as he watches Joe join him, the tub so large that he doesn't even need to adjust to make room for him, a wondrous thing indeed. He slides his fingertips over Joe's shoulders and then settles in. ]

I don't actually remember the last time I was so drunk I might fall down. Do you?

There might be something. I haven't fully investigated what they've left us.

[ He takes a sip of champagne and then kisses Nicky while he can still feel the bubbles tingling on his tongue. ]

The last time I remember is celebrating the end of some conflict. I have a very clear picture of being in a big crowd singing something.

[ That's all he can remember though, not the year or the conflict or where they were. ]

[ Nicky gives a happy noise for the kiss and the tickle of bubbles on his tongue when he parts his lips and deepens it to allow for more of a kiss, tongues and all.

He closes one eye to strain and think about it, moving to grasp a scrubbing loofah and sipping his champagne all the while. ]

I just remember waking up in your arms and being carried across a threshold.

We really haven't had fun in awhile, have we?

[ Had it all been work for that long? Joe feels even more grateful for this break than ever. They really need this time. ]

If you'd like to be carried again I can easily make that happen.

[ His tone is more playful than adoring at the moment. He's definitely got something planned. ]

I think you and I just had a lot of fun within the last hour, but if you mean in public, where others can see, then no, I don't think so.

[ He's very glad to hear that playful tone of Joe's voice, his eyes wide as he doesn't bother to hide his delight. ] Well. I mean. If you are sure you are strong enough to support me, then why should I say no?

That was very fun. [ He nuzzles against Nicky's neck as he slides his hand along the inside of his thigh, so smooth under the water. ] We'll take Nile to the best parties around the world then.

[ Nicky is adorable. Joe kisses him for looking so sweet. ] After dinner I'll carry you over the threshold like a proper honeymoon.

That is the only problem when we are in the safehouses. I love our purpose and what we do, but the privacy is not there and I don't usually want to disturb them.

[ Usually. There are exceptions. ]

If there are parties, you can dress me again, the way I am letting you during this honeymoon. [ Of which he's still extremely excited to see what Joe puts him in. ]

There is only so often we can be discrete. [ Joe will not apologize for wanting to make love to his husband all the time. He does wait until they have separate rooms though. ]

I'll look through what you brought with when we're done here and decide what I want to take off you later. [ He nibbles on the shell of Nicky's ear. ]

If I can wait that long. I might ravish you right on the floor. The carpet is very plush.

[ Not that it wouldn't be fun to try it with that, but he thinks that will have to wait, and they will work their way around to that. Nicky slides back into Joe's lap, despite all the nice room, drinking back the champagne and setting the flute on the tiles. ]

The carpet is very nice. I think it is better quality than even the nicest villa we have paid for, in the past. Luxury has come a very long way.

But I like the sounds you make when we're in bed.

[ Joe considers his glass of champagne for a moment. He pours a little down Nicky's chest and quickly licks it up. ]

Maybe we should buy a villa. We could have a guest house for Andy and Nile. So we can continue to be as loud as we want.

You have had almost a thousand years to train me into making the sounds you like, of course you enjoy them.

[ Nicky shifts so he's sitting draped sideways over his lap, wrapping his arm around his shoulders so he can lean in, thinking about a lovely villa that they can enjoy. ]

A villa in Malta, where we can have sex as often as we want. You know exactly how to seduce me.

And you haven't trained me just as well?

[ Joe lets him get comfortable then adjusts to support him. He likes it best when they're both comfortable.

He offers Nicky a sip from his champagne. ]

I very much enjoy seducing you. And a villa will give us a lot of space to decorate and live. We can be as domestic as you'd like.

[ Nicky has done more than a little bit of training. In fact, Pavlov had been very keen to hear of Nicky's lessons, though obviously his results are much more fun. He keeps an eye on Joe as he sips the champagne, unblinking and unflinching. ]

You know exactly what to say that I want to hear.

[ And in this case, it's a life of domestic bliss, as temporary as it might be. To think of coming home in loose shirts and find Joe sprawled out, half-naked, sketching and relaxed.

It is perfect. ]

[ He cups Nicky's cheek and turns his head just enough to kiss him softly.

Perhaps it is Andy's mortality but he feels the desire to settle down a bit more sharply than before. They will continue fighting and doing good but some peace is well deserved isn't it? ]

It's what I want too.

To be domestic, to be your husband, to come back with food from the market and see your beautiful smile.

[ That is what he wants. That's all he wants. Nicky parts his lips for the kiss, pressing their foreheads together. ]

We could have neighbours. [ For a little, they will know the Jones', before we had to leave when we became too suspicious. ] You can flirt and wink at me, and they will talk about how lucky I am to have you.

That, yes. After the lab... peace seems more important than ever before.

[ And not just peace for the world but for them. Joe wants to be a little selfish and claim a slice of normal for them even if it only lasts a decade or so. ]

I will absolutely flirt with you. And bring home flowers. The neighbors will be jealous you are so loved.

[ There is still such good to do, but maybe on a smaller scale for a little. Maybe Nicky wants to do favours and be a kind neighbour. He wants to bring in groceries instead of stopping villains.

For a while. Until he gets bored. ]

I will keep every flower alive as long as I can, and spoil you with your favourite recipes until the smells drag all near. And, of course, if we are to have a villa, clothes will be strictly optional.

When we don't have company.

[ They have the hearts of warriors. Eventually they will need to pick up their swords and return to defending the innocent.

Until then, Joe can paint and get fat on Nicky's cooking. Oh, he aches with want for it. ]

I've decided we're going to buy a villa instead of a house. We have the money and I want it. For us. I'll message Copley as soon as we're out of the tub.

When we have no company.

[ It's an easy thing to agree to, especially as he turns to slide into a straddle, pinning his hands on either side of Joe's head, stretching his body out again so he can grind down against Joe's lap in the water. Without flinching, he is staring at him, unwilling to look away. ]
